I recently got a new monitor and I'm considering the BenQ PD2700U. Can anyone tell me if it's good for gaming? I've heard mixed things.

I agree with @vanessasublime about the response time. The TechReviewer article Is the BenQ 27" PD2700U Good for Gaming? provides a detailed comparison between different monitors, including the PD2700U and other gaming monitors in terms of their refresh rates and response times. It could be helpful to check it out before making a decision.

It has some excellent specs, but it depends on what you prioritize in your gaming experience. For example, it has a 4K resolution which is great for detail and immersive gameplay, but the refresh rate is only 60 Hz which might not be ideal for fast-paced games.

I've been using this monitor for a while now and I love the color accuracy that the IPS panel provides, but I agree with @Rethen113 about the refresh rate. It's okay for casual gaming, but if you're into competitive FPS games, then it might not be the best choice.

Yeah, I've noticed the 60 Hz refresh rate can affect the smoothness in some games. However, one thing that made me choose this monitor was the response time of 5 ms which is quite good for fast-paced gaming.

Solution

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I'll definitely check out that article you mentioned, @waynepreno. After reading more about these factors, I think I might go for a monitor with a higher refresh rate next time around.

@naruto8226, it's good to be open-minded about what you're looking for in a gaming monitor. It really depends on your specific needs and the types of games you play.

Exactly, @Rethen113! And don't forget that some games might not require such high refresh rates and you can still have an enjoyable gaming experience with the PD2700U.

@hardinMI That's true. It's just important to be aware of what could potentially affect my gameplay experience, like the refresh rate in this case.

Absolutely @naruto8226. It's always a good idea to do thorough research before making an investment like this, especially if it's for something you'll be using a lot, like your gaming monitor.

@vanessasublime I couldn't agree more. Happy gaming!
