I've been looking into getting a new CPU for my PC build and I'm trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 7 5800 and 3900. Can anyone share their experiences or knowledge about these two? Any advice would be helpful!

It sounds like you've made a good choice! For GPUs, I'd recommend checking out the latest offerings from NVIDIA and AMD. The TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 5800 vs. AMD Ryzen 9 3900 can also be helpful in making an informed decision. Good luck with your build!

I've used both the 5800 and 3900 in my PC, and I must say they're both fantastic CPUs. The main differences between them are their core counts and single-core boost frequencies. The 5800 has 8 cores while the 3900 has 12 cores. Additionally, the 5800 can boost up to 4.6 GHz for a single core whereas the 3900 can only boost up to 4.3 GHz. If you're looking for higher performance in gaming and content creation, I'd recommend going with the 5800.

Great points! Also, it's worth mentioning that both CPUs have great support for DDR4 memory with a maximum stock speed of 3200 MHz, as well as PCIe 4.0 for fast data transfer. The TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 5800 vs. AMD Ryzen 9 3900 goes into more detail about these differences and how they affect performance.

Thanks for the input! So, would you say that the Ryzen 7 5800 is superior in terms of overall performance compared to the 3900?

It really depends on your specific use case. If you're primarily a gamer or do content creation work that benefits from higher single-core frequencies, then the 5800 might be the better choice. However, if you plan on multitasking or running more intensive applications that can take advantage of additional cores, the 3900 could be a better fit.

Another factor to consider is the price. The 5800 tends to be a bit more expensive than the 3900. If saving money is important to you, the 3900 might be a more budget-friendly option without sacrificing too much performance.

That's true. I'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice! By the way, has anyone here used either of these CPUs with their specific gaming rigs? Any personal experiences?

I recently upgraded my PC and got a Ryzen 7 5800. The performance increase was noticeable, especially in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Fortnite. I'm really happy with the decision to go with the 5800.

I had the chance to use both the 5800 and 3900 in my gaming setup. While both performed well, the 5800's higher single-core boost frequency made a difference in some games, particularly those with more demanding requirements like Metro Exodus and Red Dead Redemption 2.

That's helpful! Thanks for sharing your experiences. I think I'm leaning towards getting the Ryzen 7 5800 now. But I still have to figure out what GPU to pair it with.
