Has anyone tried the new Intel Core i5-11600K? I'm interested in it for gaming, but not sure if it's worth the upgrade from my current i5-9600K. Any advice would be appreciated.
Intel i5-11600K vs. Intel i5-9600K - Better for Gaming?

Yeah, I've been using the i5-11600K for a few weeks now and it performs great! I noticed a significant improvement in gaming compared to the i5-9600K. The higher turbo frequency really helps.
That's good to hear. I'm curious, what kind of impact does the L3 cache have on performance? I've seen that the i5-11600K has 12 MB while the i5-9600K has only 9 MB.
According to this TechReviewer article Intel Core i5-11600K vs. Intel Core i5-9600K, the i5-11600K has a higher single-core max turbo boost frequency of 4.90 GHz, which is excellent for gaming performance. The larger L3 cache can also help improve overall performance, especially when handling large workloads or multitasking.
That's interesting! I didn't realize how much of a difference the turbo frequency could make. Does anyone know if overclocking is an option with these CPUs?
Both the i5-11600K and i5-9600K support overclocking, so you can definitely push them to their limits if you want. However, be prepared for some heat and noise from the cooling solution.
Thanks for the info! I'm also interested in knowing about DDR support. Does the i5-11600K offer any advantages there?
The i5-11600K supports DDR4 with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz, while the i5-9600K has a lower max stock speed of 2666 MHz. This can help the i5-11600K deliver better performance for memory-intensive tasks and gaming.
Great, thanks for the clarification! Now I just need to find a good GPU to pair with whichever CPU I choose. Any recommendations?
If you're going for the i5-11600K, I'd recommend a GPU with at least 6 GB of VRAM for smooth gaming performance. The higher CPU frequency will definitely benefit from it.
Good advice! Thanks everyone for sharing their experiences and knowledge on this topic.
