I'm looking to upgrade my PC and I'm trying to decide between the Intel i5-11600 and i5-10600. Can anyone help me with some advice?

Hi @pangoramek, both CPUs are excellent choices, but they have some differences that might affect your decision. You can check out this TechReviewer article for a detailed comparison: Intel Core i5-11600 vs. Intel Core i5-10600. The main differences between them are the base frequency, PCIe support, and DDR4 support.
I've been using the i5-11600 for a while now, and it's great! The higher base frequency makes it more efficient in general tasks compared to the i5-10600. The better PCIe 4.0 support on the i5-11600 also helps with performance when using modern peripherals.
Thanks @stephenseifert for sharing your experience. What about gaming? I mostly play competitive FPS games and some strategy titles.
Both processors offer good gaming performance, but you might get a slight edge with the i5-11600 due to its higher base frequency and better support for modern peripherals. However, if you have a smaller desk space, the i5-10600's screen size could be a factor in your decision.
I've used both CPUs and found that they perform similarly in gaming. But if I had to choose, I would go with the one that has better overclocking potential.
Interesting @lexcimus, does either of these have better overclocking support?
Neither of the processors supports overclocking. However, you can try to extract some performance by increasing the CPU's power limit in your BIOS.
I would recommend checking out the TechReviewer article again for more insights on overclocking potential and other differences between these CPUs Intel Core i5-11600 vs. Intel Core i5-10600.
You've provided a lot of useful information. I think I'll go with the i5-11600 based on its higher base frequency and better support for modern peripherals.
