I'm looking for a new CPU and was wondering if the Core i9-9900K or the Core i3-9100F is better for gaming. Any advice would be appreciated.
Intel Core i9-9900K vs. i3-9100F: Gaming Choice?

Well @ActualPortlandNATIVE, from my experience, I'd go with the Core i9-9900K every time! It has a higher core count and faster turbo boost frequency, which makes it more suited for gaming imo.
That's true @lyfebyhomer. And if you're interested in specific details, there's a TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-9900K vs. Intel Core i3-9100F that goes into the differences between these two CPUs. It might be useful for your decision-making process.
Thanks @lyfebyhomer, and thanks @maek0815 for pointing out the link! I've been considering overclocking as well. Are either of these chips good candidates for it?
Hey @ActualPortlandNATIVE, both CPUs can be overclocked, but the i9-9900K has a higher potential for better performance improvements due to its architecture and core count.
Interesting! So I guess if I want to game at my best, I should go with the i9-9900K. But what about general app usage? Would the i3-9100F be enough for that?
For general app usage, both CPUs should perform well. The main difference will be in gaming performance and how many tasks you can handle simultaneously without slowing down.
@ActualPortlandNATIVE, I agree with what @lyfebyhomer said. If you're into streaming or other resource-intensive activities, the i9-9900K might be a better choice as well. It's worth considering based on your specific needs and budget.
