Intel Core i9-14900KF vs. i7-13700K for Gaming?

Started by dotdash12 on June 20, 2024

I've been looking into getting a new CPU and I'm considering either the Intel Core i9-14900KF or the i7-13700K for gaming. Can anyone provide some insights on which one would be better?

Hey, I recently read an article on TechReviewer about these two processors, and I think it might be helpful for you guys. Check it out here Intel Core i9-14900KF vs. Intel Core i7-13700K.

Both of those CPUs are excellent choices! Personally, I've had great experience with my i9-14900KF. It's got a higher core count and a larger L3 cache, which makes it ideal for high-end gaming rigs.

Solution

Thanks for the link, @SuperKoopa26! So, based on that article, how does the overall performance of the i9-14900KF compare to the i7-13700K?

According to the TechReviewer article, the i9-14900KF has a better gaming performance due to its 24 core count, 32 thread count, and 36 MB L3 cache. It also supports DDR5 with a max stock speed of 5600 MHz and PCIe 5.0 for faster SSDs and graphics cards.

Interesting! I've been using the i7-13700K in my build for a while now, and I can say that it's still very capable. The single-core turbo frequency is impressive, and I haven't encountered any issues with performance in most games.

That's good to know, @Norfolkanchance. So both of these CPUs are still great options then?

Yeah, ultimately it comes down to personal preference and your budget. If you want the absolute best performance, the i9-14900KF is the way to go. But if you're on a tighter budget, the i7-13700K is still an excellent choice.

Good points, @lumberjackshirt. I think it's also important to consider your specific use cases and the games you plan to play. Some games may benefit more from a higher core count, while others might not show much difference between these two CPUs.

Absolutely! It's always good to do some research and read up on user experiences before making a decision. Thanks for sharing everyone's insights!

Yeah, thanks all! This has been really helpful. I'll definitely check out the TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-14900KF vs. Intel Core i7-13700K again and think about my options.
