I've been looking at getting a new CPU and can't decide between the Intel Core i9-14900 and i9-12900KF. Any thoughts on which one is better?
Intel Core i9-14900 vs. i9-12900KF Differences?

The main difference between the two CPUs seems to be that the i9-14900 has more cores and threads, but it also runs at a lower base frequency. Have you looked at the TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-14900 vs. Intel Core i9-12900KF? It gives a great comparison of the two.
I'll check out the link. What about overclocking capabilities? Are either of these models good for that?
The i9-12900KF supports overclocking, but the i9-14900 does not. If you're looking to get more performance out of your CPU, the 12900KF might be the better choice.
I've read some reviews on the i9-14900's thermal design and it seems quite good. However, with its lower base frequency, I'm wondering if the extra cores will make up for that when it comes to day-to-day tasks?
It really depends on your usage. If you're doing a lot of multitasking or running resource-intensive applications, the additional cores might be beneficial. But if you mostly use light-weight apps or do a lot of single-threaded work, you might not notice much difference.
I've been using an i9-12900KF for a while now and it's been great. The overclocking capabilities were definitely a bonus, allowing me to squeeze out even more performance. However, the extra cores on the i9-14900 could be useful if you're running multiple applications simultaneously or doing heavy workloads.
Thanks everyone for your input. I'll need some time to think about it and see which one fits my needs better. Appreciate all the advice!
