Intel Core i9-14900 vs. i9-11900K Differences?

Started by savannagirl on May 29, 2024

I'm considering purchasing either the Intel Core i9-14900 or the i9-11900K for my next build, but I can't seem to find a clear comparison between the two. Anyone have experience with these CPUs or know of any differences?

Agreed. Don't forget to check out the TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-14900 vs. Intel Core i9-11900K for a detailed comparison. It could help you make an informed decision.

Both are great choices for gaming and professional tools. The main difference is that the 14900 has 24 cores, a base frequency of 2.0 GHz, L3 cache of 36 MB, and supports DDR5 memory, while the 11900K has 8 cores, a base frequency of 3.5 GHz, L3 cache of 16 MB, and supports DDR4 memory.

The article Intel Core i9-14900 vs. Intel Core i9-11900K on TechReviewer provides an in-depth comparison of these two CPUs. It covers core types, core counts, frequencies, cache capacities, overclocking, PCIe, and DDR support. Thanks @Verdilac. I'll check out the TechReviewer article you mentioned. By the way, does anyone have experience using either of these CPUs in their builds? Any personal anecdotes or experiences?

I've used the i9-11900K in my build and it's been great so far. The higher base frequency was really useful for running intensive applications smoothly.

As for the i9-14900, I haven't personally used one but from what I've read, users have reported excellent performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. It seems to be a better option if you plan on doing a lot of multitasking or working with large files and data sets.

I've been using the i9-14900 in my build for a few months now, and I must say it's been a game changer. The extra cores have made handling multiple tasks simultaneously much more efficient. However, I did have to invest in a decent cooling solution as the CPU does heat up quite a bit under load.

That's really useful information, everyone. It seems like both CPUs are great choices depending on your specific needs and budget. Thanks for the input!

Exactly, @savannagirl. It all comes down to what you need for your build. If you're looking for a high frequency CPU with better single-core performance, go for the i9-11900K. But if you want more cores for multitasking and heavy workloads, the i9-14900 might be a better choice.
