Intel Core i9-13900KS vs. i9-11900K Differences?

Started by myvicariouslife on May 31, 2024

I've been looking at getting a new CPU for my gaming PC and came across the Intel Core i9-13900KS and Core i9-11900K. Has anyone had experience with these? What are some of the main differences between them?

It's great that there are two excellent options available! Just remember to check out the TechReviewer article again if you need more details Intel Core i9-13900KS vs. Intel Core i9-11900K. Good luck with your decision, everyone!

I've heard that the 13900KS has more cores and higher frequencies, which should make it better for gaming and content creation.

That's correct! The 13900KS has 24 core counts compared to the 11900K's 8. It also has a higher base frequency and a higher single-core max turbo boost frequency.

In addition, the 13900KS supports DDR5 with a max stock speed of 5600 MHz, while the 11900K supports DDR4 with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz. This could lead to better performance for memory-intensive tasks.

Oh, and one more thing - I came across this TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-13900KS vs. Intel Core i9-11900K that compares these two CPUs in detail. It's really insightful and covers all the key differences.

@coreyk67, @staynchik, and @James3703! The article you linked, @James3703, is quite informative. I'm more inclined to go for the 13900KS now due to its higher core count and better memory support.

I think it's worth mentioning that both CPUs have excellent cooling solutions, so heat shouldn't be an issue for either one of them.

True, @myvicariouslife! Both CPUs are designed with high-performance cooling in mind. The choice ultimately comes down to your specific needs and budget.

I'm still leaning towards the 13900KS due to its overall performance advantage. But I'll definitely consider my budget when making a final decision.
