I've been trying to decide between the Intel Core i9-13900 and the Intel Core i7-13700F for my next build, and I could use some advice. I'm looking at these processors primarily for multitasking capabilities. Which one would be better suited for that?
Intel Core i9-13900 vs. Intel Core i7-13700F for Multitasking?

Hi @StuffHappens23, the Intel Core i9-13900 has a higher core count (24 vs. 16) and a larger L3 cache (36 MB vs. 30 MB), which should make it better at multitasking compared to the Intel Core i7-13700F. Additionally, the i9-13900 supports DDR5 with a max stock speed of 5600 MHz and PCIe 5.0 for faster SSDs and graphics cards. The TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-13900 vs. Intel Core i7-13700F provides an in-depth comparison between these two processors.
I recently upgraded to the Core i7-13700F, and it handles multitasking quite well for my daily tasks like browsing, streaming, and some light gaming. However, if you need more power for resource-intensive applications or have a heavier workload, the Core i9-13900 might be worth considering.
Thanks @talileota and @bikerjesusguy. The information you provided is really helpful. According to your experience, how do these processors handle multitasking in real-world scenarios?
I've been using the Core i9-13900 for a while now, and it's been fantastic for multitasking. I have multiple applications open at once without any noticeable lag or slowdowns. The increased core count and L3 cache definitely make a difference.
@LindsayLHess That's great to hear! Yes, the Core i9-13900's higher core count should allow you to run more applications simultaneously without experiencing performance degradation. The TechReviewer article I mentioned earlier (Intel Core i9-13900 vs. Intel Core i7-13700F) can give you a better understanding of how these processors compare in terms of their technical specifications.
Thanks again for all the input! It seems like the Core i9-13900 might be the best choice for me, considering my multitasking needs. However, I'm also worried about the price difference between these two processors. Any advice on that?
@StuffHappens23 It's true that the Core i9-13900 is more expensive than the Core i7-13700F, but you get what you pay for in terms of performance. If multitasking and handling resource-intensive applications are your top priorities, it might be worth the extra investment.
@StuffHappens23 Another thing to consider is the return policy of the store where you plan to buy the processor. Make sure they have a good one in case you need to exchange or refund the product if it doesn't meet your expectations.
Good point, @bikerjesusguy. I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks everyone for the advice! I think I'll go ahead and get the Core i9-13900 for my build. I'll let you guys know how it performs once I set everything up.
Sounds like a plan, @StuffHappens23! If you have any questions or concerns in the future, feel free to ask. Good luck with your new processor!
