Hi @Ethercloud, have you seen this TechReviewer article about these two CPUs? It's really insightful, you might find it helpful. Intel Core i9-12900K vs. Intel Core i5-12400F
Thanks @two-feathers! I'll definitely check that out. In the meantime, does anyone have any personal experiences or advice on which one would be better for 4K video rendering?
Hey @Ethercloud, I've used both CPUs for 4K video rendering and I'd say the Core i9-12900K is definitely better. The extra cores and higher turbo frequencies give you a lot more processing power, especially when dealing with large 4K files.
That's interesting @sumoliang. What about the i5-12400F? Is it still usable for this purpose?
Thanks for your input, @sumoliang and @mattylert. I'm starting to lean towards the Core i9-12900K based on what you've said. However, is there any chance that the higher price difference will be worth it?
Well @Ethercloud, it really depends on your specific needs and budget. The Core i9-12900K has a higher price, but if 4K video rendering is your primary use case, the extra power might be worth the investment.
Yeah, I'd agree with what @two-feathers said. The article Intel Core i9-12900K vs. Intel Core i5-12400F also discusses this in more detail, so you may want to check it out for a more comprehensive comparison.
Thanks everyone. Based on your advice and the TechReviewer article, I think I'll go ahead and get the Core i9-12900K. It seems like the better choice for my needs.
