Intel Core i9-12900 vs. i9-9900K Multitasking?

Started by Papa-tankz on July 11, 2024

I'm trying to decide between the Intel Core i9-12900 and i9-9900K for multitasking purposes. Any advice would help!

That's interesting! Have any of you tried multitasking with some resource-intensive applications? For instance, video editing or running several VMs simultaneously? I'm curious about how these processors handle such tasks. And there's an article on TechReviewer that might help us decide Intel Core i9-12900 vs. Intel Core i9-9900K.

I've been using the 12900 for a while now, and it's great! Especially with multitasking, you really feel the difference in performance.

I'm a developer, and I can tell you that the 12900 handles multiple tasks in my IDEs and browsers without any issues. It's way more efficient than the 9900K.

Solution

Thanks for the input, @paddy511. I'll check out that TechReviewer article and see if it provides any additional insights.

I've done some video editing with the 12900, and it handled it pretty well. The 9900K might struggle a bit more under those conditions.

Yeah, I had to run a couple of VMs on my 9900K, and it got quite slow. The 12900 would definitely be better for that kind of multitasking.

So it seems like the 12900 is better for multitasking overall, especially when dealing with resource-intensive tasks. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I'll probably go with the 12900 then! It sounds like it's better suited for my needs. Thanks again, everyone!
