I'm thinking about getting a new CPU for video editing and I was wondering if the Intel Core i9-11900K or the i5-11600K would be better. Can anyone share their experiences with these processors?

Thanks again for all the input! I'll definitely check out that TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-11900K vs. Intel Core i5-11600K one more time to make my final decision. Appreciate your help!

I've been using the Core i9-11900K for a while now, and it's been great! The performance is outstanding, especially when working with 4K video files.

Hey @EeyoreIsMyCat, I recently switched to the Core i5-11600K and have found it to be more than capable for my video editing needs. I checked out this TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-11900K vs. Intel Core i5-11600K that compares both CPUs in-depth, and it really helped me make my decision.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, guys! Based on what you've said, the Core i9-11900K seems to have an edge in performance. But how does the power consumption compare between these two?

The 11900K has a higher TDP (thermal design power) compared to the 11600K, which means it consumes more power under heavy workloads like video editing.

Yeah, I noticed my system runs a bit warmer when using the 11900K. But for me, the extra performance was worth it.

It really comes down to your specific needs and budget. The i5-11600K is more affordable and still offers good performance for most users. If you don't need the absolute best performance and are looking to save some money, I'd recommend considering the 11600K. But if you have the budget for it and prioritize raw power, the i9-11900K won't disappoint.
