Intel Core i9-10900K/Intel Core i9-10900KF: Best Choice for Video Editing?

Started by KingBobama on May 31, 2024

Hey, I'm in the market for a new CPU for video editing and came across the Intel Core i9-10900K and Intel Core i9-10900KF. I'm not sure if I should go for one or the other. Can anyone share their thoughts on which is better for video editing?

just wanted to share this TechReviewer article that compares these two CPUs in detail. It really helped me make my decision when I was choosing between them. Check it out: Intel Core i9-10900K vs. Intel Core i9-10900KF

I would personally go with the i9-10900K. It's got more cores, which can be helpful when working with large video files and multiple layers in Premiere Pro.

Yeah, but if you need integrated graphics, then the Core i9-10900KF might be a better choice. The 10900K doesn't have that, so you would need to get a separate GPU.

I've been using the Intel Core i9-10900KF for video editing and it's been working great! If you're on a budget or don't want to invest in a dedicated graphics card, then the 10900KF is an excellent choice.

Solution

Thanks for sharing that, @calixreddit! Based on the article you linked, it seems like both CPUs perform quite similarly. The main difference is whether you need integrated graphics or not.

That's true, @KingBobama. For me, having integrated graphics on the 10900KF was really important because I didn't want to deal with a separate GPU. But if you have one already or don't mind setting up a dedicated GPU, the 10900K could be the better option.

Yeah, and it's always good to know that there are options out there depending on your specific needs and budget.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. I think I'll take @calixreddit's advice and check out the TechReviewer article. Hopefully, that will help me decide which CPU is best for my situation!

Good luck with your decision-making process, @Laststraw2017. Let us know what you end up choosing!

Same here! It's always great to hear about other people's experiences and how they're using their hardware.

Absolutely, it's nice to learn from others' experiences. Happy editing, everyone!
