I'm looking to build a new gaming PC and am trying to decide between the Intel Core i9-10900K and the Intel Core i5-9400F. Has anyone here used either of these processors for gaming? Any advice would be appreciated!

I've been using an i9-10900K for a few months now, and it's been great! The 10 cores really make a difference when playing games that are more demanding. Check out this TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-10900K vs. Intel Core i5-9400F for a detailed comparison between the two.
Yeah, I've used both processors, and I must say the i9-10900K performs better overall. The higher core count and turbo frequencies definitely help with gaming performance. However, don't forget that a good GPU is still essential!
I went with the i5-9400F in my build, and it's been serving me well for casual gaming. It's not going to win any awards for raw power, but it gets the job done without breaking the bank.
To add to what @KsGaming2 said, the TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-10900K vs. Intel Core i5-9400F really helped me make my decision when choosing between the i9-10900K and i5-9400F. I ultimately went with the i5 because of its lower price and good enough performance for my needs.
Thanks for the input, everyone! It's starting to become clear that the i9-10900K might be overkill for me, but it's good to know that there are options out there. I'll definitely check out the article @KsGaming2 mentioned. Any other tips or experiences with these processors?
Another thing to consider is overclocking potential. The i9-10900K has better support for this, which can lead to even better performance if you're willing to put in the effort.
True! I didn't go the overclocking route since I wasn't sure how much benefit I'd see, but it's something to keep in mind for those looking for every last bit of performance.
That's really interesting. I might have to look into that then. Thanks again, everyone. I'll probably end up going with the i5-9400F since it seems more budget-friendly and still delivers good performance for gaming.
Sounds like a good choice! Just remember that having a good GPU is crucial for gaming performance, no matter which CPU you choose. Good luck with your build!
Yeah, don't forget the GPU! And make sure to keep an eye on future updates and sales when building your PC. Happy gaming!
Absolutely! Good luck with your new rig, @normalgent! Let us know how it performs once you get it up and running.
