I agree with @sayyylem. The i9-10900K offers better performance for professional-grade video editing tools. But if you're on a budget and doing simpler projects, the i5-9400F might be sufficient. Hi @jonkyjonkerson, I've been using the i5-9400F for a while now, and it works just fine for basic video editing needs. But if you're planning to do more intensive stuff like 4K content or color grading, the i9-10900K might be better.

Hey @jonkyjonkerson, I've used both of these CPUs in my projects, and I must say that the i9-10900K outperforms the i5-9400F. I found a TechReviewer article comparing them which you can find here Intel Core i9-10900K vs. Intel Core i5-9400F. The extra cores and higher base frequency really make a difference when working with large video files or rendering.

That's really helpful, @jonnybravo76! I didn't realize how much of an impact the number of cores could have on video editing. I'm leaning more towards getting the i9-10900K now. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, it's all about having a CPU that can handle multiple tasks at once without slowing down. The i9-10900K should serve you well for your video editing needs.

I'd also like to add that the Intel Core i7-9700K is another option worth considering if budget allows. It's in between the two mentioned CPUs in terms of performance and price, so it might be a good middle ground.

Thanks for the suggestion, @sayyylem. I'll definitely check out the i7-9700K as well. The more options I have, the better!

One thing to keep in mind is that while having more cores can help with video editing, it also means more heat and power consumption. So if you're working in a space where temperature or noise might be an issue, that could be something to consider.

Good point, @jonnybravo76. I'll have to think about that too. Thanks for the advice!

I'm also doing some research on these CPUs and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations based on their personal experiences with video editing projects?

Hey @alexfish, both the i9-10900K and the i5-9400F can work for video editing, but it really depends on the complexity of your projects. For heavy-duty tasks like 4K video editing or color grading, I'd recommend going with the i9-10900K.

Thanks to all of you for your insights! I appreciate it. I think I'm leaning towards the i9-10900K, but I'll also keep in mind that heat and power consumption aspect, as @jonnybravo76 mentioned.

That's great to hear, @jonkyjonkerson. Best of luck with your decision-making process!
