So I'm trying to decide between the Intel Core i7-14700KF and i9-13900KF for gaming, but can't seem to find a definitive answer on which one is better. Any advice?
Intel Core i7-14700KF vs. i9-13900KF for Gaming

In terms of raw power, the i9-13900KF has an edge due to its higher single-core max turbo boost frequency (5.80 GHz vs. 5.60 GHz) and additional cores and threads (24/32 vs. 20/28). However, both CPUs deliver excellent performance with a high-performance CPU cooler.
I think the most important factors for gaming are single-core max turbo boost frequency and the number of cores, with diminishing returns beyond 6-8 cores. In that regard, the i9 seems to be the better choice.
Have you guys looked at TechReviewer's article on this topic? There's a great overview there Intel Core i7-14700KF vs. Intel Core i9-13900KF.
Thanks for the input! I checked out the TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-14700KF vs. Intel Core i9-13900KF and it seems like the i9-13900KF is indeed the better option for gaming, especially due to its higher single-core max turbo boost frequency.
That's really helpful, thanks! So if I'm looking for a CPU that'll handle most modern games well, would you recommend going with the i7-14700KF or saving up a bit more for the i9-13900KF?
It really depends on your budget and how much of a performance boost you need. If you can afford it, the i9-13900KF will offer better gaming performance. But if you're on a tight budget, the i7-14700KF is still an excellent choice.
Yeah, I think the bottom line is that both CPUs are capable of delivering great gaming experiences, but the i9-13900KF has a slight edge in raw power. It's ultimately up to you and how much you're willing to spend on your gaming setup.
One thing to keep in mind is that having multiple CPU cores can improve performance with games that utilize them, but most modern games don't benefit from having more than 6-8 cores. So the difference between these two CPUs might not be as significant in practice as it seems on paper.
Good point! I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks everyone for your insights. Now I just need to find a good monitor and soundbar to go with my new CPU!
