I'm looking to upgrade my computer and have been researching the Intel Core i7-14700KF and i7-12700 for video editing. What do you think, is the 14700KF better for this purpose?

Sure, here's the link to the article: Intel Core i7-14700KF vs. Intel Core i7-12700

In my experience, the 14700KF is definitely better for video editing tasks. I've used it for a few months now and have been quite impressed with its performance.

Yeah, I recently read an article on TechReviewer that compared these two CPUs. The 14700KF has more cores, a larger L3 cache, supports DDR5, and offers better overclocking support. These features make it more efficient in handling multiple tasks and large data processing required for video editing.

That's interesting, I didn't know the 14700KF had so many advantages over the i7-12700. Can you share the link to that TechReviewer article? I'd like to read more about it.

Solution

The higher core count and DDR5 support of the 14700KF also make it a better choice for gaming, in my opinion. It can handle more demanding games without any issues, while the i7-12700 might struggle.

I've been using both CPUs for video editing and haven't noticed much difference between them. Maybe I'm not doing anything that really pushes their capabilities?

That's possible. It depends on the specific tasks you're performing in your video editing software. If you're only working with relatively simple projects, you might not see a significant difference between the two CPUs.

Thanks for the input everyone! I'll have to do more research and maybe even try testing them out before making my decision.
