Both CPUs are excellent choices, but I'd lean towards the Core i7-14700K for gaming due to its higher core count and better overall performance. Check out this TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-14700K vs. Intel Core i5-14600K for a detailed comparison.

Thanks for sharing that link, @Aeonosis! It's interesting to see the differences in core types, frequencies, and cache capacities between the two CPUs.

I've had the Core i7-14700K for a while now, and it has been performing great in games. The increased L3 cache definitely helps with smoother gameplay.

That's good to hear, @CowboysCrewLove! Does the higher base frequency of the i5-14600K make much of a difference in everyday use?

It does, @Taquito1. The higher base frequency can result in better performance for general apps and when multitasking.

So if I'm mostly playing games, would the Core i7-14700K be the way to go?

In my experience, yes, especially if you have a high-end GPU. The extra cores and cache provide an advantage in gaming performance. However, the Core i5-14600K is still perfectly capable for most gamers.
