I'm looking to buy a new CPU and have been trying to decide between the Intel Core i7-13700F and the i9-12900. Has anyone had experience with cooling these CPUs in a compact system? Any advice would help!
Intel Core i7-13700F vs. i9-12900 Cooling?

Yeah, I've used both of those processors in my build. For the i7-13700F, I used an air cooler and it kept the temperatures under control. The i9-12900 was a bit trickier though.
Well, the i9-12900 ran a bit hotter than the i7-13700F under load. I had to use a better cooling solution to keep it stable.
I can chime in here as well. I've been using both CPUs for some time now and the i9-12900 does require more cooling. You can check out this TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-13700F vs. Intel Core i9-12900 for a detailed comparison of the two processors. It might help you make a decision!
That's really helpful, thanks! So, do you think I'll need to invest in a liquid cooler or something similar for the i9-12900?
Yeah, probably. A high-quality air cooler should work fine for the i7-13700F, but the i9-12900 might need a more robust solution.
Good advice! I'll have to look into getting a better cooling setup then. Thanks for the input!
