I'm in the market for a new CPU and I'm trying to decide between the Intel Core i7-12700F and the Intel Core i5-12600KF for gaming. Can anyone provide some insight on which one would be better for me?

Both are great CPUs, but if I had to pick one it'd be the i7-12700F due to its higher core count and better single-core performance. That should give you an edge in most games, especially those that are more demanding.
Yeah, the i7-12700F does seem to have an edge in terms of raw power for gaming. However, the article on TechReviewer Intel Core i7-12700F vs. Intel Core i5-12600KF provides a comprehensive comparison of these two CPUs and might help you make your decision. It covers their performance, overclocking capabilities, PCIe support, DDR5 support, and more.
@MrsDempsey. I'll definitely check out that article. So, if I'm mostly playing single-player games with occasional online multiplayer sessions, would the i7-12700F be a better choice?
It depends on your budget and how much of a bottleneck you're willing to accept from your CPU in high-demand games. The i5-12600KF is still an excellent choice and should serve you well for most gaming scenarios. Just make sure you have a good GPU to go with it.
I recently upgraded my rig and went with the i7-12700F, and I must say, the performance boost in games has been noticeable. The extra cores really help with multitasking too, which is a bonus when streaming or recording gameplay.
That's good to hear, @bastibraune. I'm leaning towards the i7-12700F now based on your experience. Thanks for sharing!
No problem, @firewireflow. Just keep in mind that while the i7-12700F might provide better performance overall, it's also more expensive. So you'll have to weigh the benefits against the cost. Good luck with your decision!
