Does anyone have experience with either of these CPUs? I'm trying to decide which one to get for my next build.
Intel Core i7-12700 vs. i9-13900K Performance?

I've been using the Core i7-12700 for a while now, and it works great for me! I don't do much gaming, but for general use and some video editing, it's more than enough. The Intel Core i9-13900K vs. Intel Core i7-12700 provides some good insights on their performance comparison.
Thanks for sharing, @Misteren. I'm more into gaming, so the i9-13900K might suit me better. But I'm curious, have you noticed any specific improvements with the i7-12700 over your previous CPU?
I recently switched to the i9-13900K for my custom PC build. The performance difference is night and day compared to my old processor. And when it comes to gaming, this new CPU absolutely shines! I'm really glad I chose the i9-13900K.
That's great to hear, @Imaginebeingamish. I've been reading some TechReviewer articles about these CPUs, but I still can't decide which one to get. Any advice on that?
Well, both of them are excellent choices, but if you're going to do a lot of gaming and need the extra power, go for the i9-13900K. If you don't need all that extra grunt, then the i7-12700 should be more than sufficient.
Thanks, @Misteren. That helps a lot! One last question though, how much of an impact does overclocking have on the performance? I've seen mixed reviews online.
Overclocking can definitely boost your CPU's performance, but it's not for everyone. It increases heat and power consumption, which means you'll need better cooling and possibly a more powerful PSU. The i9-13900K has good support for overclocking, according to the TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-13900K vs. Intel Core i7-12700. If you're comfortable with tweaking and have the necessary hardware, it could be worth exploring.
Thanks for all the advice! I think I'll go ahead and get the i9-13900K. My build will have a high-end GPU, so I don't want any bottlenecks. And I'm interested in trying out some overclocking.
That sounds like a good plan! Just make sure to keep an eye on temperatures when you start overclocking, and enjoy your new rig!
Same here, @melkyoreo. Have fun with your build, and let us know how it goes!
Agreed. Good luck with your build, @melkyoreo, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions in the future.
