I've been looking into getting a new CPU for video editing and came across the Intel Core i7-10700K and Core i5-9600K. Can you give me some insights on which one is better for video editing?

Hi @Bj007pro, both CPUs are good, but the i7-10700K has a higher core count (8 vs 6) and larger L3 cache (16 MB vs 9 MB), which should help with video editing tasks. Also, it has an increased single-core max turbo boost frequency (5.10 GHz vs 4.60 GHz). I've found this article comparing them that you might find useful Intel Core i7-10700K vs. Intel Core i5-9600K.
Thanks for the info @cryptolaxy. So would you say that the i7-10700K is definitely better for video editing then?
Yeah, it seems like the i7-10700K has some advantages when it comes to video editing. But keep in mind, price can also be a factor.
I recently upgraded my setup and went with the i7-10700K, and I've been pretty happy with the results. The extra processing power really makes a difference, especially for handling large video files.
Mostly 4K video editing projects. The i7-10700K handles them pretty well without any issues.
@yogomushi had a similar experience as me. I also edit 4K videos, and the i7-10700K performs great for that.
Great to hear, guys. Thanks for the input! Think I'll go with the i7-10700K then, considering the extra power it offers.
Sounds like a good choice, @Bj007pro. But remember to also consider your budget and other factors as well. Good luck!
