I'm thinking of getting a new CPU for video editing. Has anyone had experience with the Intel Core i7-10700K?

Yes, I've used it for a few months now and it works great! The TechReviewer article Intel Core i9-10900KF vs. Intel Core i7-10700K offers a good comparison between the i7-10700K and the i9-10900KF.

Thanks for sharing, @Knowledge1337. I'll definitely check out that article. So, does anyone have any opinions on whether this CPU is suitable for video editing?

I've been using the i7-10700K for video editing and it works fine for my needs. The performance is good but I did notice some lag when working with 4K videos in Adobe Premiere.

Yeah, I think it depends on the type of video editing you're doing. For basic edits, the i7-10700K should be more than enough. But if you're working with high-resolution videos and heavy effects, an i9 might be a better choice.

I've used both the i7-10700K and i9-10900KF for video editing, and I must say that the i9 is much better for my needs. The extra cores and higher base frequency really make a difference when working with large video files and complex projects.

Thanks for the input everyone. Based on your experiences, do you think it's worth upgrading to the i9-10900KF from the i7-10700K?

It depends on your budget and the type of work you do. If you're working with high-resolution videos or doing a lot of heavy lifting in post-production, then it might be worth the upgrade. But for basic video editing needs, the i7-10700K should suffice.

I agree with @jdthunderhawk. The i9 is better suited for professional-level video editing, but the i7 is more than capable for casual users or those on a budget.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll have to think about it and see what fits my needs best.
