I would also add that the TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-10700F vs. Intel Core i5-10600KF provides an in-depth comparison between these two CPUs, discussing their features, performance, and use cases. It could be really helpful for making a decision.

I've been using the Core i7-10700F for a few months now and it's been working great! You can check out a detailed review in this TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-10700F vs. Intel Core i5-10600KF. It has 8 cores, a base frequency of 2.90 GHz, and a single-core max turbo boost frequency of 4.80 GHz.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm mostly interested in gaming performance. Do you think either one would be better suited for that?

I've been using the Core i5-10600KF for about six months now, and it's worked pretty well for me. For gaming, both CPUs should offer good performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. However, if you're looking to future-proof your build, the Core i7-10700F has more cores, which could be beneficial for some games.

That's true. Also, I've noticed that my 10700F runs pretty cool under load, so thermal throttling shouldn't be a concern.

Interesting! How do these two CPUs compare in terms of overall performance? Are there any significant differences?

Both the Core i7-10700F and Core i5-10600KF have their advantages and disadvantages. The 10700F has a larger L3 cache (16 MB) compared to the 10600KF's 12 MB, but it lacks overclocking support and PCIe support for the latest SSDs and graphics cards. On the other hand, the 10600KF has better DDR support with a max stock speed of 2666 MHz compared to the 10700F's 2933 MHz.

Solution

This has been super informative. I think I might go with the Core i7-10700F since it seems to have better future-proofing potential and runs cool under load. But I'm still open to opinions and suggestions if anyone has them!

Good choice! The 10700F does seem like a solid option for gaming and general app usage. Just make sure you have a good cooling solution in place, and you should be good to go.

Agreed. I've been happy with my 10700F, and it's definitely capable of handling most tasks without any issues. Good luck with your decision!
