I've been looking at getting a new CPU and have come across the Intel Core i5-14600 and Core i5-12600K. Can anyone share their experiences or thoughts on which one would be better for gaming?

Exactly, @raistlin1022. It's always good to read up on different CPU models like in the TechReviewer article I mentioned earlier. Intel Core i5-14600 vs. Intel Core i5-12600K It might help you make a more informed decision.

Hi @raistlin1022, both CPUs are good choices for gaming, but the i5-12600K has a higher single-core max turbo boost frequency (4.90 GHz) compared to the i5-14600's 5.20 GHz. I also find that my games run smoother with the i5-12600K. Have you checked out this TechReviewer article for more information? Intel Core i5-14600 vs. Intel Core i5-12600K

Thanks for the advice, @CrazyKanadian. That's helpful to know. So it seems like the higher single-core frequency on the i5-12600K might be a key factor for gaming performance?

Yeah, @raistlin1022, but don't forget about Efficiency cores too! The i5-12600K has 4 of them compared to the i5-14600's 8. I've been using the i5-12600K and it's great for my general apps as well.

I have an i5-14600 and it works perfectly fine for gaming. It's not as fast as the i5-12600K in some aspects, but it still delivers good performance with a high-performance cooler. The i5-14600 has 24 MB of L3 cache compared to the i5-12600K's 20 MB, which might be worth considering too.

That's interesting, @OneTruMorty. So both CPUs have their pros and cons. I guess it really comes down to personal preferences and what specific games I'd be playing.
