I've been looking at CPUs for my new build and I'm trying to decide between the Intel Core i5-13600K and the Intel Core i9-9900K. Has anyone here had experience with either of these? Any insights would be great!
Intel Core i5-13600K vs. Intel Core i9-9900K Pricing & Performance

I've used both of those processors, and they're both excellent choices. The 13600K is fairly new, so it's a bit pricier than the older 9900K. The performance difference isn't huge, but if you're willing to pay extra for the latest tech, the 13600K might be worth it. Check out this TechReviewer article Intel Core i5-13600K vs. Intel Core i9-9900K for a detailed comparison.
Thanks for the suggestion, @Matt3124. I've read through that article and it seems like the i5-13600K has better support for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, which could be important for my build. Do you think these improvements would make much of a difference in daily use?
I personally own a 9900K and haven't experienced any issues with it. The price difference between the two is quite significant, so if you don't need the extra features of the i5-13600K, the 9900K might be a better choice for your budget.
That's true, @erock0138. It really depends on your specific needs and how much you're willing to spend. The 13600K does offer better support for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, which can make a difference in performance for certain applications. However, the 9900K is still more than capable of handling most tasks.
Good points all around! I guess I'll have to think about what's more important for my build - better memory support or saving some money. Thanks for your help!
One thing to consider is future-proofing. If you're investing in a new build, it might be worth paying a bit extra now to ensure that your CPU can handle future updates and improvements without needing an upgrade.
That's a good point, @apesfromspace13. I hadn't thought about it that way. I'll definitely keep that in mind as I make my decision.
Just remember to check out the TechReviewer article again before you make your final decision. It has some really useful information on both CPUs!
Will do! Thanks everyone for the advice and insights. I think I have a better idea of what to look for now.
