The TechReviewer article Intel Core i5-13500 vs. Intel Core i5-11600K also talks about PCIe support differences between the two CPUs. If you're planning to upgrade your GPU in the future, the i5-13500's PCIe 5.0 might be more beneficial than the i5-11600K's PCIe 4.0.

I've used both CPUs in my PC, and I must say they're great for gaming! The main differences between the two are the core count, frequencies, cache capacities, overclocking support, DDR, and PCIe. Thanks for sharing that link, @alexfish. I've seen some benchmarks and it seems like the i5-13500 has more cores and threads, which should provide better performance in certain situations.

Yeah, the article @alexfish shared is really helpful. Based on my experience, both CPUs perform well for gaming, but if you need extra power for video editing or other professional tools, the i5-13500 might be a better choice due to its higher core count and larger L3 cache.

That's good to know. I'm leaning towards the i5-11600K because of its lower price and DDR4 support. However, I'm also considering future-proofing my build for any potential upgrades.

Well, it really depends on your budget and what you'll be using the PC for most. If you're mainly gaming, both CPUs should serve you well. Just make sure to get a good cooler since these CPUs can get pretty hot under load.

True, I've had issues with overheating when playing some graphically intensive games on my i5-11600K. A higher core count like the i5-13500 could help alleviate that problem.

Solution

Interesting! So if I want to future-proof my build and potentially have a higher performance for video editing, the i5-13500 seems like the better choice. But if I'm more focused on gaming right now and budget is a concern, the i5-11600K might be the way to go.

Exactly, @Surfdrone. It all comes down to your specific needs and preferences. Both CPUs are capable for gaming and general use, but they have their own strengths and weaknesses. Good luck with your decision!

Same here, good luck with your build! And don't forget to monitor the temps of whatever CPU you end up going with. You don't want any overheating issues.

Thanks for all the input everyone! I'll definitely keep that in mind about the temperatures and PCIe support. I think I'm leaning more towards the i5-13500 now, but still need to make a final decision.
