I've been trying to decide between the Intel Core i5-13400 and the Core i7-12700KF for my new build. Has anyone had any experience with these? I'm curious which one offers better performance.
Intel Core i5-13400 vs. Intel Core i7-12700KF - Better Performance?

I've used the Core i5-13400 in my current build and it's been working fine for me, but I haven't personally used the Core i7-12700KF. However, there is a TechReviewer article that compares these two processors, which might be helpful to you: Intel Core i5-13400 vs. Intel Core i7-12700KF.
Thanks for sharing, @jonahcarlson! I've read the article and it seems that the Intel Core i7-12700KF has more cores (12 vs. 10) and a higher base frequency (3.60 GHz vs. 2.50 GHz), as well as greater L3 cache capacity (25 MB vs. 20 MB). It also supports overclocking, which could be beneficial for future upgrades. Based on this information, it appears that the i7-12700KF might offer better performance overall.
@MrWrench, I've personally used both the Core i5-13400 and Core i7-12700KF in different builds and found the i7-12700KF to be a more powerful processor. The extra cores, higher base frequency, and greater L3 cache capacity really made a difference in performance-intensive tasks such as video editing and gaming.
Thanks for your input, @ejacublake! That's helpful to know. I guess it's clear that the i7-12700KF is more powerful. But I'm also considering budget constraints - will I be able to get a good GPU and other components without breaking the bank?
You're welcome, @MrWrench! When it comes to budget, both processors are fairly similar in price, so you'll need to consider other factors like your specific use case. If you don't plan on overclocking or need more cores for heavy multitasking, the Core i5-13400 might be sufficient for your needs.
That's a good point, @Patrick14. Additionally, if you're not planning on doing any overclocking, the Core i5-13400 might also be more power-efficient, which could help with overall system cooling and noise levels.
Thanks for all the advice! I think I'll go with the Intel Core i7-12700KF since it seems to offer better performance. I'm still looking for a good GPU that won't break the bank while also delivering great performance.
That's a wise choice, @MrWrench! Good luck finding a GPU that meets your needs and fits within your budget. Don't forget to keep an eye on sales and discounts, as you might be able to score a great deal on a high-quality GPU.
Absolutely, @ejacublake. Sales and discounts can make a big difference when it comes to upgrading your build on a budget. Good luck with your search, @MrWrench!
