I'm considering getting either the Intel Core i5-12600K or the i9-10900 for my new build. Can anyone share their thoughts on which one is better overall?

Well, @BeauNanas, it really depends on your specific needs and budget. Have you checked out this article by TechReviewer? They compared the two CPUs in-depth. The Intel Core i5-12600K vs. Intel Core i9-10900 might help you make a more informed decision.

I've been using an i5-12600K for a couple of months now, and it's working great for me! It handles my gaming and general app usage without any issues.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @thefastestgun. I recently upgraded to the i9-10900, and I'm really impressed with its performance. The extra cores give a noticeable boost in professional tools and some games.

That's interesting! How do you feel about the overclocking capabilities of the two CPUs? I'd like to push my system for some heavy workloads if possible.

Solution

Yeah, I agree with @AbominableEagle. The i5-12600K does offer good overclocking support, but the i9-10900 has more core counts which can be advantageous in some situations. Just make sure you have a high-end cooler to maintain those frequencies.

Thanks for your input, guys. I think I might go with the i5-12600K since it seems better suited for my needs and budget. The gaming performance should be more than enough for me.

Sounds like a good choice, @BeauNanas. Just remember to keep an eye on temperatures when overclocking. Good luck with your build!

Same here! Don't forget to enjoy the process of building and customizing your PC. It can be quite rewarding in the end.
