Exactly! The article at Choosing the Best Motherboard for Intel's Core i5-12400 provides some great insights into which chipsets work best with Intel's Core i5-12400 CPU. It's worth a read if you're still on the fence about your decision.

The GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Master is a great option if you're looking for the best feature board. It's quite pricey but offers excellent performance and features.

I went with the GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Elite AX DDR4, which offers more value for money while still providing top-notch performance. You can find it at Choosing the Best Motherboard for Intel's Core i5-12400. The article TechReviewer wrote about choosing the best motherboard for Intel's Core i5-12400 also has some great insights.

Thanks for sharing! I'm leaning towards getting the GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Elite AX DDR4, but I was wondering if anyone has experience with overclocking on this board?

The GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Elite AX DDR4 does support overclocking. However, since your i5-12400 doesn't support it, you might not get much benefit from it. It's more of a feature for future upgrades or if you decide to change CPUs.

I had this board and CPU combination, and I didn't find the overclocking capabilities very useful because the CPU was already performing admirably at stock settings.

Thanks for your input! So it seems like the GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Elite AX DDR4 is a good choice if you're looking for a balance between performance and value. But since my i5-12400 doesn't support overclocking, I might not need the top-tier features of that board.
