@DukeDawg That's interesting! I recently read an article comparing these two processors on TechReviewer. They mentioned that the Core i5-11600KF is suitable for general use and gaming while the Core i7-10700KF excels in professional tools requiring higher multi-core processing power. The link to the article is Intel Core i5-11600KF vs. Intel Core i7-10700KF.

@runningforfood Sure! Both processors have their own strengths. The Core i5-11600KF has 6 cores, a base frequency of 3.90 GHz, supports PCIe 4.0 and DDR4 up to 3200 MHz. The Core i7-10700KF, on the other hand, comes with 8 cores, a base frequency of 3.80 GHz, PCIe 3.0 support and DDR4 up to 2933 MHz.

Solution

@smurfinq1 I'm mostly interested in gaming and some light video editing, so it seems like the Core i5-11600KF might be a better fit for me.

That's true, but if you ever get into more demanding tasks or need better performance for professional software, upgrading to the Core i7-10700KF would be an option. Just make sure your motherboard and other components are compatible with both options.

@runningforfood I had a similar dilemma when choosing between these two processors. In the end, I went with the Core i5-11600KF for gaming purposes and have been quite satisfied with its performance. It's more than capable for most games at 1080p resolution.

@kemonymous Yeah, I agree! The Core i5-11600KF is more than enough for most gaming setups. But if you ever decide to upgrade or want a higher performance CPU in the future, the Core i7-10700KF would be a good choice. Just remember to check compatibility with your other components.

@smurfinq1 Thanks everyone for the advice! I think I'll go for the Intel Core i5-11600KF and see how it works out. If I need more power in the future, I can always upgrade.

Great choice! Enjoy your new CPU, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions or run into any issues. Good luck!

Good luck with your new setup! And remember, a good GPU is just as important as the CPU for gaming performance. Have fun gaming!

@kemonymous Absolutely! A powerful GPU and a decent cooling system are key components in achieving optimal performance. Happy gaming!
