Has anyone tried using an Intel Core i5-11400F for gaming? I'm curious to know if it offers better performance than the i5-10400.

Oh, yes! The TechReviewer article Intel Core i5-11400F vs. Intel Core i5-10400 discusses how the i5-11400F has a higher single-core max turbo boost frequency and better DDR support compared to the i5-10400. It's definitely worth checking out if you're interested in these CPUs!

Hey, I've been using the i5-11400F for a while now and I can say that it's worked well for me in games. The single-core max turbo boost frequency is impressive!

Yeah, I've heard good things about the 11400F's performance too. But what about @LanaAndNeal? Did you read that TechReviewer article? I'm curious to know their take on it.

Solution

Thanks for sharing that link, @shmoopsie. I was particularly looking at the GPU performance of these two CPUs. Any idea how they compare?

According to the article, the 11400F does not have Performance cores which means it doesn't support PCIe 4.0 like the i5-10400. This could impact GPU performance in some cases.

Right, so for games that require fast PCIe transfers, the i5-10400 might have an edge over the i5-11400F? Interesting!

Exactly, @DylanOzanich. So it seems like it depends on the specific game and its requirements. Thanks for the insight, guys!
