Intel Core i3-13100F vs. Intel Core i9-11900 for Budget Builds?

Started by fullofstars on July 11, 2024

I'm thinking about building a budget gaming PC and I'm torn between the Intel Core i3-13100F and Intel Core i9-11900. Can you help me decide which one would be better for my needs?

Hey @fullofstars, I'd recommend checking out this article from TechReviewer that compares these two CPUs in detail: Intel Core i3-13100F vs. Intel Core i9-11900. It might help you make a more informed decision.

Hi @fullofstars, both CPUs are great options for a budget build, but they're quite different in terms of performance. The i3-13100F has 4 cores and 8 threads, while the i9-11900 has 8 cores and 16 threads. It really depends on what you want to do with your PC.

Solution

Thanks for the link, @no-love-lost! I've read it and it seems like the i9-11900 is better suited for gaming due to its higher core count. However, the i3-13100F still delivers decent performance for general app usage.

So, if I'm mostly going to be streaming and using office apps, would the i3-13100F be sufficient or should I spend more on the i9-11900?

If you're mainly focused on general app usage and not heavy gaming, the i3-13100F should work just fine for your needs. The i9-11900 is better for budget builds that will also be used heavily for gaming or other resource-intensive tasks.

I've been using an i3-13100F in my build for a few months now, and it's been great for me so far. It handles everything I throw at it with ease. So, if you're not planning on doing too much multitasking or heavy gaming, the i3 might be your best bet.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Based on what you've said, I think I'll go with the i3-13100F for my budget build. The price difference is significant and it seems to suit my needs just fine.

That's a great choice, @fullofstars! Enjoy your new build and let us know how it performs in the long run. Good luck!

Agreed! Good luck with your build, @fullofstars.
