I'm looking to upgrade my computer and I came across the Intel Core i3-13100 and Intel Core i5-12400F CPUs. Can someone give me some insights into their performance? Is one better than the other?

I recently purchased an Intel Core i3-13100 and it's been working great for my needs so far. It handles general tasks, gaming, and even some light video editing quite well.
Yeah, but if you want to get a bit more power, the Intel Core i5-12400F might be worth considering. According to this TechReviewer article Intel Core i3-13100 vs. Intel Core i5-12400F, it outperforms the i3-13100 in terms of core count, thread count, L3 cache, and max turbo frequencies.
Interesting! So the i5-12400F would provide better performance overall for gaming, general apps, and professional tools due to its superior specifications. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the help!
You're welcome! Just make sure you have a high-end cooler since both CPUs can maintain their frequencies with one.
Oh, also keep in mind that neither of these CPUs support overclocking, which means you won't be able to push them beyond their stock speeds.
That's good to know. Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to look into getting a high-end cooler regardless of which CPU I choose.
No problem! And if you're interested in DDR support, both CPUs support DDR5 with a max stock speed of 4800 MHz, so that should be consistent across your choices.
Great, thanks for the info. I think I'll go check out these CPUs at the store and see which one I prefer.
