Intel Core i3-13100 vs. i9-9900K for Video Editing?

Started by Kunstvis on May 25, 2024

I'm looking to buy a new CPU for video editing, and I came across the Intel Core i3-13100 and i9-9900K. Can anyone tell me which one would be better for this purpose?

I've been using the Intel Core i9-9900K for a while now, and it's fantastic for video editing. The TechReviewer article Intel Core i3-13100 vs. Intel Core i9-9900K provides an in-depth comparison between these two CPUs. You'll find that the i9-9900K outperforms the i3-13100 in almost every aspect. I'd recommend going for the i9-9900K if you're serious about video editing.

For general app usage, both CPUs should work well. However, if you're planning on doing more advanced video editing, the i9-9900K will give you better performance due to its higher core count and base frequency.

@wakeupsir and @ImgurGingerSwan. The information you provided really helps me understand the differences between these two CPUs. I'll probably go for the i9-9900K then.

Just make sure to pair it with a good GPU for even better performance in video editing. Good luck!

@graemej1 I'm planning on getting a high-end GPU as well. The more power, the better, right?

Absolutely, @Kunstvis. A powerful CPU and GPU combo will make your video editing experience much smoother. Just don't forget to keep your system cool with a good cooler or liquid cooling.

@Kunstvis Good luck with your new setup! And yes, having both a high-end CPU and GPU will definitely enhance your video editing capabilities. You'll be able to handle larger projects without any issues.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I've learned a lot about these CPUs today. I'll keep you posted on my progress!

@Kunstvis Take care and good luck with your new hardware!
