According to the TechReviewer article Intel Core i3-10105 vs. Intel Core i3-10100F, both CPUs offer mediocre performance overall for gaming, so you might not see a big difference between them. However, having a high-performance CPU cooler will help ensure good game performance.

Both are pretty similar in terms of specs, so it really depends on your use case. Have you checked out this article from TechReviewer that compares them? Intel Core i3-10105 vs. Intel Core i3-10100F

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm more interested in gaming and general apps. Which one would be better for those?

Solution

That's interesting. I've heard that more cores are better for gaming, but it seems like neither has an advantage in that regard?

Yeah, most modern games don't benefit from having more than 6-8 cores. The single-core max turbo boost frequency and the number of cores are the most important factors for gaming performance.

I see. So, for general apps, which one should I go for?

For general apps, both CPUs should perform similarly since they have the same specs. Just make sure you have a high-performance CPU cooler to maintain optimal temperatures.

Thanks for all the help! I think I'll go with whichever one is cheaper or comes bundled with my next PC purchase.

Smart thinking! Price and bundle deals can sometimes make a big difference, especially if you're on a budget. Good luck!

Yeah, don't forget to check out the reviews for both CPUs as well. Happy building!
