@apieceofbrownie, thanks for that info! I've read an article about these CPUs on TechReviewer which was really helpful. The article Intel Core i3-10100 vs. Intel Core i3-9100 discusses how both CPUs have mediocre performance in gaming due to their 4 cores, but the i3-10100 has a higher single-core max turbo boost frequency.

Hi @GrippenJ39! Both CPUs have similar core types, core counts, frequencies, and cache capacities. The main differences are their single-core max turbo boost frequencies and DDR support. The i3-10100 has a slightly higher frequency at 4.30 GHz compared to the i3-9100's 4.20 GHz. Also, the i3-9100 has better DDR support with a max stock speed of 2400 MHz.

Solution

That's interesting. So would you recommend one over the other for gaming? How important is the DDR support?

@GrippenJ39, I'd say both CPUs should give you decent gaming performance. However, if you're planning on upgrading your GPU in the future, the i3-9100 might be a better choice due to its better DDR support.

Yeah, the DDR support could become important if you plan to run more demanding games or applications that require faster memory speeds.

Makes sense. Thanks for the help, everyone! I'll do some more research and make my decision based on your suggestions. Have a great day!

You're welcome, @GrippenJ39! Good luck with your search, and feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
