Hey, I'm looking into getting a new CPU and came across the Intel Core i7-14700 and i9-10900K. Anyone have any experience with these or thoughts on which one is better for gaming?

That's good to know. I read an article on TechReviewer that compared these two CPUs. It might be helpful for you guys too. Intel Core i7-14700 vs. Intel Core i9-10900K

I've been using the i7-14700 for a few months now and it's worked great! It handles my games without any issues, and I don't really notice any lag or stuttering.

Solution

Oh, thanks for sharing! The article you linked seems pretty comprehensive. It talks about the core counts, frequencies, cache capacities, and even PCIe support differences between the two CPUs.

I've been using the i9-10900K and it's also great for gaming. I haven't noticed any significant difference in performance compared to the i7-14700. The only downside is that it doesn't have PCIe 5.0 support like the i7-14700.

Yeah, but the i9-10900K does have a higher base frequency and more cores, which can be beneficial for some games. It all depends on your specific needs and preferences.

Good points! I'm starting to lean towards the i7-14700 because of its better PCIe support and overall performance. Thanks everyone for the input!

No problem! Just remember that personal preference and usage scenarios play a big role in determining which CPU is best for you.
