Importance of Cable Management in BenQ EX2780Q Stand?

Started by bradfxrd on June 12, 2024

I recently bought a BenQ EX2780Q monitor and I'm looking for recommendations on stands that not only provide stability but also good cable management. Any suggestions?

Hey @bradfxrd, welcome to the club! Cable management is indeed an important aspect of any setup. The TechReviewer article Monitor Mounts & Stands for BenQ's 27" EX2780Q discusses how it can impact your overall experience with a monitor stand. I would recommend looking at stands that have built-in cable clips or routing systems to keep things tidy.

Solution

I agree with @demortes, cable management is crucial for maintaining a clean and organized workspace. I've been using the Ergotron LX desk mount with my BenQ EX2780Q, and it has an excellent cable management system. The setup was quite easy too.

I've used the VIVO Mounting Kit with my BenQ monitor, and it offers decent cable management as well. Plus, it's quite affordable!

Thanks for your suggestions! @toodles2, could you tell me more about the Ergotron LX? Does it have a weight limit or compatibility issues with the BenQ EX2780Q?

@bradfxrd, sure. The Ergotron LX has a weight capacity of up to 20 lbs (9.07 kg), which should be sufficient for your BenQ monitor. It's also VESA compatible, so you shouldn't have any problems mounting it.

Great, thanks! @allthegood1saretook, how about the VIVO Mounting Kit? Is it easy to install and use?

Yeah, it was pretty straightforward to set up. The cable management system isn't as sophisticated as the Ergotron LX's, but it does the job well enough.

Thanks for your input, everyone. I think I'll check out both options and see which one works best for me.
