I'm currently trying to choose between the i9-12900KS and i7-12700K for my next build, and I could use some advice. Anybody have experience with either of these?

I've been using an i9-12900KS for a while now and it's performing great! I also found this TechReviewer article that compares the two CPUs Intel Core i9-12900KS vs. Intel Core i7-12700K, which might help you in your decision making.
That's really helpful, thanks! From what I've read, both CPUs seem to have excellent performance overall. One thing that stands out is the i9-12900KS has more cores and threads compared to the i7-12700K. Do any of you have an opinion on whether this matters for everyday tasks or gaming?
Yeah, I'm curious about that as well. It seems like having more cores can be beneficial for multitasking and some games, but I don't know if it's worth paying the extra money.
I think having more cores is definitely a plus, especially when it comes to handling demanding tasks and multitasking. But ultimately, it depends on your budget and what you plan to use the CPU for. If gaming is your main focus, the i9-12900KS might be the better choice.
That's good to know! I'm mostly going to be using my PC for gaming and some video editing. What about temperatures? I've heard that the i9-12900KS can get quite warm under load.
I haven't noticed any issues with temperature on my i9-12900KS, but it's always a good idea to have a high-quality cooler to ensure stability. The article Intel Core i9-12900KS vs. Intel Core i7-12700K also discusses the cooling solutions for both CPUs in more detail.
Thanks for sharing that link! It's really helpful to see a comparison of the two CPUs side-by-side like this. I'm still trying to decide whether it's worth paying extra for the i9-12900KS, but I guess it comes down to my budget and what I value more - performance or price.
