I've been looking at these two CPUs, the Intel Core i7-9700K and the Intel Core i7-10700, and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on their clock speeds? Are they both good for gaming?
i7-9700K vs. i7-10700 Clock Speed?
Started by Anonutest on July 11, 2024
Both CPUs have decent clock speeds for gaming. The i7-9700K has a base frequency of 3.60 GHz and a single-core max turbo boost frequency of 4.90 GHz, while the i7-10700 has a base frequency of 2.90 GHz and a single-core max turbo boost frequency of 4.80 GHz.
I've seen an article that compares these two CPUs in detail. The TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-10700 vs. Intel Core i7-9700K discusses their performance, clock speeds, and other specifications. It might be helpful to check it out.
Thanks, @RemondBall, for the information on base frequencies and single-core max turbo boost frequencies. And thanks, @Chiefshow, for the link to the TechReviewer article. I'll definitely take a look at that.
I've been using an i7-10700 for a few months now, and it's been working well for me in gaming. The 4.80 GHz single-core turbo boost is more than enough for most games. However, if you're looking to do some serious overclocking or need more cores, the i7-9700K might be a better choice.
That's true, @jonnybravo76. Overclocking capabilities and core counts are also important factors to consider when choosing between these two CPUs.
I've been using an i7-9700K for a while now, and I can say that the 3.60 GHz base frequency and 4.90 GHz single-core max turbo boost frequency have served me well in gaming. However, I also enjoy having the ability to overclock my CPU when needed.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, @jonnybravo76 and @sealion27. It seems like both CPUs are capable of delivering good gaming performance, but it ultimately depends on individual preferences and needs. I'll have to read through that TechReviewer article you mentioned, @Chiefshow, and see if it helps me make my decision.
No problem, @Anonutest. I'm sure the article will be helpful in making your decision. Good luck with your search!
