The i7-9700F has a higher core count, cache capacity, and slightly higher max turbo boost frequency than the i5-9600KF, which makes it more suitable for video editing tasks. There's a good article with an overview of both CPUs at Intel Core i7-9700F vs. Intel Core i5-9600KF.
That's interesting! I didn't realize that having more cores could make such a difference in performance. What about their overclocking capabilities?
The i5-9600KF supports overclocking, while the i7-9700F does not. Overclocking can potentially boost performance, so this is something to consider if you're looking for maximum performance.
I've been using an i5-8400 for video editing and it's worked fine for me. I don't think the extra cores of the i7-9700F are necessary for my needs.
Thanks for sharing your experience, @ixitheunicorn! That helps give me a better idea of what to expect. The more I learn, the more confused I get though 😅
Haha, I feel that, @modernphilanthropy. It can be quite overwhelming when you're trying to make an informed decision. Personally, I'd go with the i7-9700F based on its superior specs for video editing tasks.
Just wanted to chime in here and recommend taking a look at this TechReviewer article Intel Core i7-9700F vs. Intel Core i5-9600KF which provides a more detailed comparison of these two CPUs and their performance in various scenarios. It might help you make your decision!
Thanks, @SikhMagnet and @seriousdolphin! I appreciate the advice. I'll definitely check out that TechReviewer article to get a better understanding of the differences between the i7-9700F and i5-9600KF.
