I've been building a new PC and I'm trying to figure out how much power I need for the i5-13600K CPU. Can you guys provide some recommendations on which power supply wattage would be best?

I had the same question as @EngineerCerebreum. After reading the TechReviewer article Choosing the Best Power Supply for Intel's Core i5-13600K CPU, I went with a 950-watt power supply for my i5-13600K build because I wanted to future-proof my setup and have some headroom for potential overclocking.

Hi @EngineerCerebreum, I came across this TechReviewer article that might help you with choosing a power supply for your i5-13600K build: Choosing the Best Power Supply for Intel's Core i5-13600K CPU. According to the article, it really depends on the tier of components you're using. For top-tier components, a 950-watt power supply is suggested, while mid-tier requires a 600-watt PSU, and value-tier can work with a 450-watt supply.

Hey @EngineerCerebreum, I went with a 750 watt power supply for my i5-13600K build and it's been working fine. You might want to check out the Corsair SF series, they have great reviews!

I'd recommend going for at least an 850-watt PSU if you're planning on overclocking your CPU or GPU. Overclocking can significantly increase power consumption and you don't want to risk any issues.

Thanks @cocobuttz,@James3703,@shmoopsie! I was leaning towards the mid-tier components, so I think a 600-watt PSU should be enough. But I'll definitely keep in mind that if I decide to overclock, I'll need more wattage.

That's a good point, @riveroaken. Having extra wattage can be beneficial in the long run if you decide to upgrade your components or overclock them. Just make sure to choose a PSU from a reliable brand.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll definitely consider these suggestions and make sure to go with a reputable brand. Really appreciate it!
