Any advice on which CPU is better, the Intel Core i5-12600K or the Intel Core i7-10700K? I'm considering them for my new gaming PC build.

I've been using an i7-10700K and it's served me well. But if you're primarily a gamer and not into content creation or heavy multitasking, the i5-12600K should suffice.

In terms of raw performance, both are good, but the i7-10700K offers slightly better single-core performance and more cache capacity. That being said, for most gaming scenarios, you'll be fine with either CPU.

Thanks @ECHOtheSound. And thanks @kkirzinger for the link to the TechReviewer article. Based on the information, I think I'll go with the i5-12600K as it fits my budget better.

Good choice! Just make sure you have a good cooler and a fast SSD to optimize your gaming experience. The CPU is just one part of the equation.

@Grizzlysol You won't be disappointed with the i5-12600K for gaming. Enjoy building your new PC!

I'm glad @Grizzlysol could find something within his budget. Remember to monitor the temps as well, especially when overclocking, if you decide to do that in the future.

@ECHOtheSound @kkirzinger I appreciate the advice! I'll definitely keep an eye on the temperatures. And yes, gaming is just one part of the equation; the overall build quality and components matter a lot too.

Exactly! It's not just about having the most powerful components, but also making sure they work well together and in harmony with each other.

@Grizzlysol @obvalternate That's right. Happy building and good luck with your new gaming rig!
