Any insights on the gaming performance difference between HP's V24i G5 and V24i monitors? I'm looking to upgrade my setup and want to ensure I make a good choice.
HP Monitors: Gaming Performance Difference?
Started by MrTomasA on June 06, 2024
I've been using an HP monitor for a while now, but not these specific models. However, I can tell you from experience that the refresh rate is one of the most important factors when it comes to gaming performance. The V24i G5 has a 75 Hz refresh rate compared to the V24i's 60 Hz. That difference alone could make a big impact on your gaming experience.
Thanks for the input, @kenstar9. I've read some articles that suggest other factors such as response time and screen resolution also play a crucial role in gaming performance. Have you noticed any significant differences between these two monitors in those aspects?
I recently bought the HP V24i G5, and from my experience, both monitors have a 5 ms response time, which is pretty good for gaming. As for the screen resolution, they're both 1920 x 1080, so there's no difference there.
In addition to what @kenstar9 mentioned earlier, I've noticed that the TechReviewer article HP 23.8" V24i G5 vs. HP 23.8" V24i discusses how a higher refresh rate can make a noticeable difference in gaming performance. It might be worth taking a look at it for more detailed insights.
@Markelmann and @novaryu10, thank you both for your input. So, overall, the V24i G5 seems to have an edge when it comes to refresh rate and response time, but is there any other factor I should consider before making my decision?
One thing that might be important to some gamers is the display panel type. The V24i G5 has an IPS panel while the V24i has an unknown panel type. IPS panels are known for their good color reproduction and wide viewing angles, which can make a difference in gaming performance as well.
Another factor to consider might be your budget. If you're on a tight budget, the V24i could be a more affordable option, although it has a lower refresh rate. On the other hand, if you're willing to spend a bit more for better performance, the V24i G5 might be worth the extra investment.
@kenstar9 and @Beto1989, your points are helpful. It seems that the V24i G5 has some advantages in terms of gaming performance, but I should also take into account factors like budget and display panel type. Thanks for the advice!
You're welcome, @MrTomasA. I hope you find the right monitor for your needs!
