HP 23.8" 24mh vs. LG 27" 27MK600M-B? Better Gaming Monitor?

Started by Mynameisgood on July 11, 2024

I've been looking at the HP 23.8" 24mh and LG 27" 27MK600M-B monitors for gaming, but I'm a bit unsure which one to go with. Has anyone had experience with these?

I appreciate your input. I think I'll go ahead and get the HP 24mh since it seems to be more suited for gaming. But before I make my final decision, I want to read that TechReviewer article you mentioned earlier, HP 23.8" 24mh vs. LG 27" 27MK600M-B. I'll let you know how it goes!

Yeah, both are great choices! I got the 24mh a few months ago and it's been working awesome for me. Plus, there's this TechReviewer article that goes into detail about them HP 23.8" 24mh vs. LG 27" 27MK600M-B.

That's really helpful, thanks! The response time on both seems to be pretty good at 5ms, but what about the refresh rate? I remember reading somewhere that a higher one is better for gaming.

You're right, the refresh rate does matter. Both of these monitors have a decent refresh rate of 75Hz, which is good for most games, but if you want smoother gameplay and less motion blur, you might want to consider something with a higher refresh rate. I've been using the 24mh for some time now and it works great for my gaming setup.

Thanks for the advice! So, do you think I should go for the HP 24mh or the LG 27MK600M-B? They both have similar specs, but their color capabilities are different. The 24mh has a better SRGB color capability of 99%, while the LG one is slightly lower at 72% NTSC. Is that something I should be concerned about?

It really depends on what you're going to use it for. If you're into gaming and need more accurate colors, then the HP 24mh might be a better choice. But if you're just watching movies or browsing the web, the LG one would probably suffice.

I've been using the LG 27MK600M-B for a few months now, and it's great for general use. It's not specifically for gaming, but I haven't had any issues with it so far. The color reproduction is decent enough for me. If you're more into gaming, then maybe the HP 24mh would be a better choice.
