I'm looking for information on the HDMI version supported by the Sony 55" X80K. Can you help me out?
HDMI Version in Sony 55" X80K TV?
Started by Johnnyk1nz on June 21, 2024
Sure! The Sony 55" X80K TV supports HDMI 2.0 but not HDMI 2.1. It has four HDMI 2.0 ports and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
Thanks for the info, @thefastestgun! Also, I'd like to mention that there's an article on TechReviewer discussing this topic in more detail. You can check it out at HDMI Capabilities of the Sony 55" X80K TV.
That's really helpful, @IconistSF! The article you shared gives a lot of insight into the TV's capabilities and recommended cables for HDMI 2.0.
Just to add, I've been using the Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) with my Sony 55" X80K, and it works great! The cable is durable and supports high-resolution video.
Good to know, @lizz0188! I'm also curious if anyone has tried the Monoprice 8K Certified Braided HDMI 2.1 Cable with their TV?
Yes, @thefastestgun! I've used the Monoprice cable and it's been working fine too. It's a bit more expensive than the Anker cable but offers better build quality.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone! I think I'll go ahead and get an HDMI 2.1 cable like the ones you mentioned. Hopefully, they'll improve my TV experience.
That's great to hear, @Johnnyk1nz! Just make sure to keep an eye on any compatibility issues, as not all devices support HDMI 2.1 features.
Good advice, @MrsDempsey. I've encountered some minor issues with older cables, so I'm glad I upgraded to a 2.1 cable. It's definitely worth the investment if you plan on using high-end devices and want seamless connectivity.
Absolutely! Having an HDMI 2.1 cable has made a huge difference in my setup. The improved refresh rate and smoother gaming experience have been well worth the upgrade.
Thank you all for your help! I'll definitely consider these factors when choosing a cable. Have a great day, everyone!
