HDMI Adapter Needed for TCL 43S450F?

Started by TunerClassicVR4 on May 28, 2024

I recently bought a TCL 43" 43S450F TV and am having trouble with it. My question is, do I need an HDMI adapter to use my current devices with this TV? I've heard mixed things about it.

Hey there, @shmoopsie! The TCL 43S450F does not support VRR, but it does have eARC. If you're looking for more info on the TV's HDMI capabilities and a few recommendations for compatible cables, check out this TechReviewer article: HDMI Capabilities of the TCL 43" 43S450F TV.

Hi @TunerClassicVR4! The TCL 43S450F actually doesn't require an HDMI adapter as it already supports HDMI 2.1 with one HDMI 2.1 port and two HDMI 2.0 ports. This means you should be good to go without needing any adapters!

That's great news, @James3703! But what about VRR support? I heard that's important for gaming.

Thanks, @Nerdist18! That helps a lot. I'll definitely look into that.

No problem, @TunerClassicVR4. Just to add, if you're mostly watching slower-paced content, the 60 Hz refresh rate on the TCL 43S450F should be fine for you. But if you need faster refresh rates for gaming or action-packed movies, you might want to consider upgrading to a higher refresh rate TV.

Thanks for the info, @James3703. I'll have to think about it!

Yeah, I appreciate all the help. I guess I don't need an HDMI adapter after all! Good to know that my current devices should work with the TCL 43S450F without any issues.
