I'm looking for some advice on using HDMI 2.1 with my new Samsung 55" S90C TV. Has anyone had experience with it?
HDMI 2.1 With Samsung 55" S90C TV?
Started by thejakegreene on June 20, 2024
Yeah, I've been using mine for a few weeks now and it's been great. I used an Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) HDMI Capabilities of the Samsung 55" S90C TV which works perfectly. I was initially worried about the cable length but it has been more than enough for my setup.
That sounds good! I'm still a bit confused about the refresh rate and VRR support though. Can anyone explain that to me?
Sure, @CardiacCatFan! The Samsung 55" S90C TV has a native refresh rate of 144 Hz, which means it can handle motion smoothly. VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support also helps eliminate screen tearing and stuttering during gaming or high-motion content.
That's really helpful, @amsmoviepool! So do you think using an HDMI 2.1 cable would make a difference in the performance of my TV?
Absolutely, @thejakegreene! Using an HDMI 2.1 cable like the one mentioned by @SlayerSystems can provide increased bandwidth for higher resolutions up to 10K and faster refresh rates compared to older versions. Plus, it supports features like VRR and eARC that enhance your overall experience.
Great, thanks for all the information! I'm definitely going to look into getting an HDMI 2.1 cable now. Any recommendations on which one to choose?
If I were you, @thejakegreene, I would go with the Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) HDMI Capabilities of the Samsung 55" S90C TV like I used. It's been reliable and works perfectly with my TV.
Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll consider getting an HDMI 2.1 cable soon. Have a great day, all!
You're welcome, @CardiacCatFan! Enjoy your new setup when you get it. Take care!
